Hi! I’m Dr. Nancy Lee, the proud Founder of Smilefolk. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to change peoples’ minds from what dentistry has been to what dentistry should be. My philosophy is that patients should have the knowledge to make informed decisions regarding their dental care, and be an active participant in their treatment. I want to motivate people to achieve better overall health through prevention and maintenance. I think that you’ll find my listening skills, attention to detail, and empathy sets me apart from many. I always do my best to put you at ease.

I was born and raised in Miami, FL, and studied Psychology and Biology at University of Florida. I found my way back to South Florida to pursue my dental career at Nova Southeastern University and the Miami VA Medical Center, and to live closer to my family. Aside from dentistry, I enjoy cooking, gardening, jogging and hanging out with my family. You may also find me out on the water snorkeling, diving, or stand-up paddle boarding. I love to meet new people, so stop by Smilefolk!

I became interested in dentistry when I first went to an orthodontic office at age 14, so in that moment I knew it…I wanted to go to dental school. And I did. I studied dentistry at the Central University of Venezuela. A few years after my graduation, I made the decision to leave my country and take a new horizon, a new beginning!

It has been very rewarding for me to be able to work and dedicate my time working in the area I love most. This time, I am not working as a dentist, but in the hands of an excellent dentist and a great team at Smilefolk that have had the patience and dedication to teach and show me how it is to work in a new country and with a new and totally different language. To me, every day is a challenge, a learning experience, and above all, an opportunity to give the best of me!

Hi! I’m Michgha, but I go by “M.J.” I’m a dental assistant with Smilefolk. Since the age of 14, I knew I wanted to be in dentistry. I love growing and expanding my knowledge with new developments in technology and research. I love meeting new people, especially the awesome patients at Smilefolk. The environment here at the office is so warm, friendly, inviting, and makes me feel homey.

My favorite things are going to the beach, hanging out with my puppy (a long-haired chihuahua named “Shadow”), and cooking (especially seafood pasta)!

Hi! I'm Valeria, and I'm the Front Office Coordinator at Smilefolk. I was born in Venezuela, and am currently pursuing architecture. I love working with amazing people at Smilefolk who care and acknowledge the importance of their patients' dental health. Also, it's a peaceful, lovely environment that never fails to make my days better. I love meeting new people, so it's always a pleasure getting to know patients and making them feel at home!

I consider myself a responsible, outgoing, caring person who loves to instill confidence and security in patients right when they enter the office. I enjoy spending time with loved ones, including my dogs (2 poodles!), going to the beach, traveling, and watching interior design shows.
